Why on earth should anyone read astrology? That remains an open question, subject to belief. Many people find meaning and direction from astrology every day, and many succeed throughout life without ever taking a single astrology column seriously.
Rob Brezny's Free Will Astrology invites a playful look at reality through the prism of astrology. Does astrology work? Well, who knows? Moreover, with the exception of scientists, who cares?
If it's treated in a fun way to jump-start the imagination, if it can make us play with different perspectives and see the universe in a new and better way, why does it matter?
Free Will Astrology calls us to abandon the idea that any given idea or belief can be "the right way" or "true beyond doubt", including any religion, philosophy, or astrology itself!
Rob is not asking for us to believe in things that are provably not true, but rather to keep an open mind about that which cannot be proven one way or the other - and to stop and look at the mysteries around us every day.
Many so called "realists" are in fact pessimists attempting to justify their dour outlook. Does reality include atrocities and misery galore? Well, of course it does. Dreams die every day and lives are ruined and fall into darkness on a regular basis. However, reality also contains beauty, wonder, and acts of love and good will. To truly be a realist means to accept all of what is, and choose what one's life should be modeled on.
What about compassion? How can anyone possibly stay focused on the wonder of life when so many fellow humans are suffering horrible things? Mr. Brezny does acknowledge this in his work, but asks the all important question that so many television talking heads have ignored, "Why not give them hope and help them instead of just feeling their despair?" Despair, he points out, actually helps no one, while hope and work combined, do.
Without people who can see the potential, who have a clear idea of what could be instead of being blinded by what is, everyone would be sunk in a mire of despair. Rob is one of those rare individuals who consistently shines a positive light on mankind's potential.
On a personal note, Rob constantly challenges me to look at my life from unique, creative and unconventional angles. His readings are invariably full of interesting facts, thoughtful observations and challenging questions - as well as sometimes being uncannily relevant. :-)
Does Free Will Astrology offer all the answers? No, nor does it claim to. However, it does offer valuable insight into taking control of our lives, gaining clarity of vision - while at the same time taking a playful and imaginative look at our world. That, in and of itself, makes it a wonderful read.
Free Will Astrology is a free newsletter that is published weekly. I highly recommend it.
